Himdag Culture

Workshops were carried out in Magdalena and Sonoyta on O’odham History and culture. The historical pre-colonial, colonial, and modern eras were covered by retracing the migrations of O’odham in accordance with their environment and the influences of other peoples, both indigenous and non-indigenous. Plant identification and the O’odham seasonal calendar were presented, as well as the background to Traditional Government of O’odham in Mexico and its tie to the Tohono O’odham Nation government. Workshops were given in summer, 2013.
